What data I collect and why
Contact form and email
When you reach out via the contact form, email, or WhatsApp, I collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. I use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if we work together, to provide the service you’ve requested. The legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — you’ve contacted me and reasonably expect a reply.
Invoicing and client records
If you become a client, I also collect your business name, address, KVK number (if applicable), and VAT number for invoicing purposes. This data is required to comply with Dutch tax law and is retained for 7 years as required by the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst). The legal basis is legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Website analytics
This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics services. No personal data is collected through cookies.
Hosting
This website is hosted by a managed WordPress hosting provider. The hosting provider may process server logs that include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This processing is necessary for the operation and security of the website. The legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who I share your data with
I do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to anyone. Your data may be shared with:
- My bookkeeper/accountant — for tax filing purposes, as required by Dutch law.
- My hosting provider — who processes data on my behalf to keep the website running.
No personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA) unless adequate safeguards are in place as required by Chapter V of the GDPR.
How long I keep your data
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a project: deleted within 12 months.
- Client records and invoices: retained for 7 years as required by Dutch tax law.
- Email correspondence: retained for the duration of our working relationship plus 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you.
- Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data (unless I’m legally required to retain it).
- Restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Data portability — receive your data in a commonly used format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Payment Security
DeskWise IT takes the security of your payment information seriously.
Credit and debit card payments are processed securely through Wise (wise.com), our third-party payment processor. When you pay by card, your payment details are entered directly on Wise’s secure payment page. DeskWise IT does not receive, process, or store your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive card data at any point.
Wise is authorised and regulated as a payment institution and uses industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your transaction data.
Bank transfers are made directly through your own bank’s secure environment. DeskWise IT does not have access to your bank login credentials.
